The rules in B.C.
Only gambling run by the provincial government through BCLC is legal in British Columbia. PlayNow.com, the online gambling site owned by the province, is operated by BCLC. Across B.C., gambling is overseen by the Independent Gambling Control Office, known as the IGCO. The rule applies in Kelowna as anywhere else in the province.
Under the IGCO's rules, PlayNow.com is the one regulated commercial online gambling website allowed to operate in B.C. Other online gambling sites that accept B.C. players are, by the same rules, operating illegally in the province. In British Columbia, a person must be 19 to gamble, and that includes casinos. A Kelowna reader faces the same age rule at either casino door and on PlayNow.com.
The two casinos and online play
Chances Casino Kelowna says it has not launched an online casino. It warns about scam sites that use its name. Under Game Break, the voluntary self-exclusion program run by BCLC, both PlayNow.com and entry to B.C. casinos are covered. Private online sites sit outside it, so enrolment does not block them. As of April 13, 2026, enrollees selected 6 months or 1, 2 or 3 years, and the term stays fixed once set.
How this guide is paid
Neither a casino nor the website of either venue, Kelowna Casinos is a guide that operates independently. No wagers are accepted and no accounts exist. The front page alone holds paid links, every one labelled Ad. A menu button, a block directly under the first screen and a third near the foot of the page make up the three.
One private online casino partner sits behind all three, and it pays the Okanagan desk a commission. The partner is not PlayNow.com and is not connected with Playtime Casino Kelowna or Chances Casino Kelowna. It is not licensed in B.C.: the IGCO says sites other than PlayNow.com that accept B.C. players operate illegally in the province. The partner can change.
Questions to the desk

Chances Casino Kelowna says it has not launched an online casino. It warns about scam sites that use its name.
Are private online sites covered by Game Break?
Game Break does not cover them. It covers B.C. casinos and PlayNow.com. To enrol, a person goes to any casino and shows government-issued photo ID. Calls to Gambling Support BC at 1-888-795-6111 are confidential, cost nothing and are answered round the clock.
Why does the front page carry links labelled Ad?
The guide receives a commission from a private online casino partner. Each of the three carries the Ad label, and none appears beyond the home page. The partner is not PlayNow.com and can change.
