The lakefront building

Gateway describes the casino as located in the Grand Okanagan Lakefront Resort and Conference Centre on Okanagan Lake. The Hotel item in the casino's menu links to the Delta Hotels Grand Okanagan Resort, a Marriott property. No room count is published. Groups are welcome: buses can park on site, and tours book through Guest Services at 250-860-9467.

For special occasions, the casino lists a private room off the casino floor. Customers with disabilities can access the Playtime facility. Guests who ask can be provided with communication supports, wheelchairs and accessible formats.

Lake City Casino before 2018

Before 2018 the casino traded as Lake City Casino, and it had been at the Water Street site for almost 19 years. Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited, which runs it, rebranded it as Playtime Casino Kelowna. The grand opening came on March 1, 2018, after a $3.6 million renovation. That work added MATCH Eatery & Public House and a new poker room. It also moved the table games to the top floor, next to MATCH.

Getting in and parking

Only guests 19 or older are admitted. As of June 26, 2023, anyone coming into a casino in B.C. has to present government-issued photo ID. The ID is scanned by security and compared with the roster of people barred from entry, Game Break enrollees among them. Playtime refuses entry to people enrolled in the program. No personal information is stored by the system for those admitted.

Parking is free for casino guests in the GREEN zone of the covered parkade. Two entrances are open daily: Water Street, and the Causeway entrance just off the parkade. Bus riders can take route 2 North End Shuttle to the Water St at Cawston Ave stop, roughly 25 m from the casino. Route 5 Gordon / Downtown uses the Ellis St at Clement Ave stop, some 260 m away.
